Youth Leaders Hold Successful Car Wash

Valley United Way's Youth Leadership held a successful car wash on Saturday, August 9 at the McDonald's on Route 34 in Derby as part of its annual effort to raise funds that will benefit a needy child in the Valley. For the last four years, the group has staged an annual benefit concert in the fall and distributed the funds to help defray medical costs for a Valley child suffering from a major illness. This year's concert will be held in October. Funds from the car wash will be combined with the receipts from the concert.

The weather was iffy, but the work crew was enthusiastic and the customers kept coming. We want to thank everyone who got their car washed and also McDonald's for being great hosts!
