2003 Program Members - Click here to see them in action at Camp Jewell Students Announce $3,000 in GrantsValley United Way's 2003 Youth Leadership Program completed another successful year with 21 students from all five towns and seven different high schools being represented in the program. The program kicked off with a reception for students and parents on March 27 and was followed immediately with a team building weekend at Camp Jewell April 4 -6. and concluded with the students making grants totaling $3,000 to programs serving teens in the Valley. During the year is out, the students will completed a training program that will helped them develop their own needs assessment and allocations process. Students from the student government at Fairfield University provided some of the training this year. Click here to learn more. During the year, the students participated in a variety of activities including staging a benefit car was and rock concert. They also participated in the Postal Workers Food Drive - the largest single day food collection program for the needy in the country. Click here to learn more.
