During its seven years of existence, over 100 teens have participated in Valley United Way's Youth Leadership Program. This year, the members decided it would be both a nice idea and a benefit to the members to have a reunion of past Youth Leadership members.
The Reception was held on Monday, January 6, 1997 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Raymond P. Lavietes Conference Room at Valley United Way. Food was provided through David M. Grant Caterers and current Youth Leadership members provided desserts, munchies, and drinks.
Invitations were sent out to everyone who had been a member of the Program in the past, for whom we had a current address. Fourteen alumni members of Youth Leadership attended the Reception. These included two who had been members in 1990, the first year of the Program.
Everyone enjoyed meeting and talking with others who had been or are involved with Youth Leadership. The consensus of everyone present was that the Reception was such a good idea that it should be an annual event.
